refunds and cancellations

the short version

digital files cannot be un-sent, so returns and exchanges do not apply to them. what I do instead is fix things: if a file will not open, if you were sent the wrong one, if a page prints at the wrong size, or if your photo will not paint well, tell me and I will sort it out at no cost. that offer has no time limit on it.

the ready-made kits

the kiwi, citrus, abstract sunset and grapefruit cocktail kits are instant downloads: the files are yours the second you order, which is the whole point of them. etsy's terms for instant downloads are that they do not accept returns, exchanges or cancellations, and that applies here too.

so please do read what is in a kit before you buy. every kit page on this site lists the colors, the pieces, the page count and the print size, and says outright how many pieces are smaller than a size-0 brush tip. if something is unclear, ask me first and I will tell you straight whether it is the right kit for you.

the custom kits, made from your photo

a custom kit is drawn to order, so it works differently. you can cancel within 2 hours of ordering, which is the window before I start drawing, and you get your money back in full. after that the work is done by hand and cannot be undone, so returns and exchanges do not apply.

two things stop a custom kit going wrong in the first place, and both happen before you are finished with:

• I check your photo will paint well. if it will not, I say so and you can send a different one. swapping the photo is free and there is no limit on it.
• you see a watermarked proof before the final files. if it is not right, say so then and I will change it.

what I will always fix

• a file that will not open, or a download that broke
• the wrong file, or a file missing from the set
• a page that prints at the wrong size when you printed at 100%
• anything in a kit that is plainly a mistake I made

none of those need a reason or a negotiation. send me a message and I will make it right.

what I cannot do

I cannot refund a ready-made kit because you changed your mind after downloading it, and I cannot refund a custom kit once it is drawn. that is not me being strict, it is that the file is already yours and I have no way to take it back.

if a kit turned out harder than you expected, that is not a refund, but it is still worth telling me: I will point you at the easier outlines in your own kit, and I will use it when I set the next one up.

how to reach me about an order

send an etsy message. your order and your files are already there, which means I can look at exactly what you got instead of asking you to describe it. there is one person here, so the reply comes from me.

where the sale actually happens

every kit is sold through etsy, so etsy's terms are the ones you can hold me to, and their buyer terms sit behind everything on this page. if anything here ever disagrees with the shop policies on the listing, the listing wins and I have made a mistake on this page. tell me and I will fix it.
