plain words
privacy
this is a small shop run by one person, so there is not much to tell. here is everything the site keeps, in the order it happens.
the short version
there are no accounts here and nothing to log into. the only thing this site ever asks you for is a kit idea, and only if you feel like sending one. I do not sell, rent or trade anyone's details, and there is no advertising list to end up on.
if you send me a kit idea
the form on request a kit asks what the kit should be, and then three optional things: a bit more about why, your email if you want an answer, and whether you paint on paper or on an iPad. you can leave every one of those blank except the idea itself.
what gets saved alongside it: the time you sent it, the two-letter country code cloudflare reports, and the page you came from. that is the whole record. it lands in a private store only I can open, and a copy is emailed to me so it does not sit there unread.
I keep ideas until I have either made the kit or decided not to. if you gave me an email, I use it to reply to you about that idea and nothing else. no newsletter, because there is no newsletter.
the bit that counts
so the form cannot be flooded, the site counts how many ideas arrive from one connection in an hour. that counter is the one place your IP address is touched, it is used for the count and nothing else, and it deletes itself after an hour. your IP is never saved with your idea.
hello paint is on pinterest, and this site carries the pinterest tag so I can see which pins bring people here and which kits they go and look at. it sets cookies, and it tells pinterest which pages were visited and when someone taps through to the shop. it never sends your name or your email, because there is nowhere here for you to type them.
if you would rather not be counted, blocking third party cookies in your browser stops it, and pinterest has its own controls in their privacy policy.
who hosts this
the site runs on cloudflare, which keeps the usual short server logs that any host keeps, and stores the kit ideas for me. nobody else has a key to it.
buying happens on etsy
every kit is sold through etsy, so the moment you tap a shop link you are on their site under their rules. your order, your photo, your payment and your address are all handled by etsy under etsy's privacy policy, not by me and not here. nothing about a purchase travels back here. the photo you send for a custom kit reaches me through the etsy order box, I use it to draw your kit, and I do not post it anywhere without asking you first.
if you want yours gone
send me an etsy message and say so. I will delete the idea and anything attached to it, and tell you when it is done. you do not have to give me a reason.
children
the kits are friendly to all ages and plenty of them get painted by kids, but the shop is meant for grown ups to buy from. I do not knowingly collect anything from a child.
